Would you like to make clothes that actually fit you? Or do you want to design, and realise your own patterns? Then come to our spacious studios and learn the techniques of pattern cutting. You will use your own measurements to create paper patterns that fit your body shape perfectly. During the course you will learn how to:
- Construct a basic skirt, bodice, and sleeve pattern from your own body measurements
- Manipulate patterns to create diverse styles and designs
- Adjust patterns for that perfect fit
Please note that during this course you will be working in calico to make toiles. If you fancy making an actual garment then you may prefer our Complete Dressmaking course.
About your Teacher:
As well as being an incredible designer, pattern cutter and seamstress Maria Pulley is also an excellent teacher, who's passion for sewing is infectious. She totally loves the whole process of creating a garment, from the concept through to the craft of making it.
Maximum class size of 6.
A small budget for pattern paper and calico is also required, both of which are available to buy in our shop. You will also need a large lever arch file, pencil and calculator for those tricky measurements.
A weekly course running for either 4 or 6 weeks. Please see the workshop dates above for options.
Workshops are held in our colourful and cosy studio, above the shop. There is lots of space to spread out and a separate chill out area to have a break. The shop is located in central Chichester, about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. The closest car park is The Cattle Market.
