I had a fab message in this week from Sarah Cassie with a great bit of then and now. Sarah, who is a textiles teacher, has been recycling some of her mum’s vintage Clothkits pieces into new dresses for her gorgeous daughter.

Sarah’s recycled vintage Clothkits
The little blue dress was once-upon-a-time a sundress identical to the one in the picture below (apparently Mrs Cassie Snr loved it so much she had one in each colour!). Sarah traced off the pattern for one of our contemporary shift dresses, and then cut out the pattern pieces from the sun dress. I love the big pocket on the front, and my little girl does love pockets! Isn’t it great? Thanks so much for sharing this with us Sarah.

Vintage Clothkits
Do let me know what you think of the printed cross stitch. Emma Kerr (who had a placement here at Clothkits earlier this year) has been working up a new version of a printed cross stitch design for us ready for next summer.

Hi,I was reading your article in the Telegraph and wondered if you would like to see any of the Clothkits items I still have? I have 2 of the knitted dresses (about 1988) and a jacket with animals in the pockets and an adults maternity smock dress(1986).I am so glad you have restarted the brand.Oh My daughter is using my old baby changing bag too!!
Regards,Mary Mitchell.
