Sewing at Yorkshire Sculpture Park
This weekend top Clothkittens Anne and Nikki will be running a workshop at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Not only is a fantastic place to be working in, but it is also a joy to meet likeminded people that love to sew. And combined with the opportunity to have another look at Rob Ryan’s exhibition currently on show there it is what an American friend of mine would term ‘the gravy’ –already fab, but even better! The workshop has been commissioned to run in conjunction with the Rob Ryan exhibition ‘You can do alot with a small brain’… hmm, say no more! So we are looking forward to helping you create your own usable work of art! Anne and Nikki are running four workshops over the whole of Sunday 7th Feb. The House and Birds papercut design kits that they are making up are from the highly acclaimed print “We don’t fly north” adapted for us by Rob. At the last sell-out workshop at the YSP in November, the highly creative bunch came up with a plethora of ideas and variations for both bags and cushions - many had never used a sewing machine before! Who knows what you will come up with this time? We are also secretly hoping for a bit more snow to make the view into the park even more spectacular…
