Clothkits is back - wonderful!
I made the brilliant padded jackets for my sons born in the mid 1980's as well as for my friend's daughter. Will you be bringing them back? I loved quilting them by sewing around all the animals etc. I remember there was a farm animal design and a wild animal design as well. My 3rd child was born in 1999 and I would love to make one for her as well!

I am just trying to cajole Rob Ryan into doing a contemporary version with padded birdies to go in papercut cages. Thought that it would look beautiful in his style. And Jane has made some wonderful lions and elephants that would work really well on one too … so watch this space!

Each year I made my 3 daughters the padded jackets when they were growing up in the 80’s. They loved them and they were passed on to many other children.
Now my eldest daughter wants to make them for her own children , Scarlett(4) and Oscar(3) so please bring them back !!
We also loved all the stripey T-shirts and tights, and the dungarees ….. it’s so exciting to see you’re bringing them back !

Oooh - I had the wild animal one, and was thinking of that for my son recently. Can we have something to sew in time for next autumn please!

I also made the padded jackets for my first 3 children in the mid80s. The jungle ones were really popular. They were then passed on to my last two girls in the early 90s and I saved one which is now being worn by my 2 year old grandson! Is this a record? I’ve still got a knitted dress stashed away waiting for a grand daughter and cant wait for some more designs so I can start making again.

Please bring back the padded jackets! I got one for my daughter, born in 1979, actually my friend finished sewing it, her daughter wore then gave it back when I had my second daughter in 1986. She wore it everywhere. I still have it and would never give it away. It's in my closet at home in Ohio, USA. Would love to make another one for a lucky girl!

For adults too please!
I still use a readymade padded jacket from The Last Days - but the print is classic Clothkits honest!
Orange and Fuschia swirls with turquoise accents. People stop to ask where it came from about every two months
Kath
PS Can you give me a clue as to where the register button is? Its says Please Consider Registering but I'm stumped.

I am delighted to see the return of Clothkits - I made dungarees and skirts in the early 1980s but also loved the readymade knitted dresses, hats and matching dyed tights.
Still have some kits to make up (more daughters but even less time) and hope to sew these for grandchildren one day! However, I do still have two kits (probably early 1980s) for the 711 Jerkin, both in sizes 2-6. The outside material is heavy cotton in ethnic swirls of dark blue and dark greens, whilst the lining is a dark navy acrylic pile fur fabric. If anyone would be interested in these, please do contact me.
