I enjoyed making lots of the old clothkits but my very favourite were some bibbed shorts with bunnies on which I made for my, now grown up, nephew. You also used to sell really good quality t shirts, tights and socks to match the kits. They were never cheap but very good value and on a day out if you spotted another “Clothkitted” family the children always seemed to get on with each other.
I used to love getting the catalogue and seeing the same children modelling the clothes.
After 25 years plus we still use our faithful Clothkits PVC tablecloth with games printed on it. It has been on camping holidays abroad and does sterling service to protect my kitchen table when the glue and glitter comes out.

I hated sewing but Clothkits meant that even I could sew for my three children. I've just brought out the old dungarees, smocks and sundress with quilted bibs for my new grand-daughter. I also had the lovely red hooded baby bag but it was a bit too worn to be used. I do wish you had some baby clothes - it's so hard to find clothes for baby girls that are not in a disgusting pink. My daughter managed to find a stripey dress from elsewhere that remnded her of her favourite stripey Clothkits pull on dress. I also loved the ruched top sundresses and knickers.
I too still use the PVC tablecloth with games but coul ddo with another.

Yes, please bring out some baby stuff! My mum made loads of clothes for me as a child and I would love to do the same for my daughter…but she is only 5 weeks old. I don’t want to wait until she is one to restart our Clothkits tradition.

Hopefully Amy you will not have to wait that long at all. We will have our first baby dress sample in next week, so if it all looks good and doesn’t need any tweeking, it will be out on the website before long (in all its turquoise, blue and green glory!). And I couldn’t agree more about the pink comment Liz…

I was so excited when I found out that you had emerged from hibernation! I had 4 children between 1976 and 1982 and they more or less lived in Clothkits, along with the odd pair of dungarees and jackets I made myself. Having 2 girls and 2 boys, I think we probably had an example of almost all the clothes on offer! I still have bags of baby and kid's clothes up in the loft that I couldn't bear to get rid of, and there must be loads of vintage Clothkits amongst them - getting up there must be my job for next weekend! I now have twin grandsons aged 14 months and am really looking forward to a bigger selection of boy's clothes.
