Good to see the company & the concept coming back. I loved making kits up for myself & my daughter. I still miss my sunshine yellow dungarees & turquise peacock padded jacket. I always coveted those rainbow sweaters too.

I seem to remember a glove puppet kit, or is that just the golden glow of nostalgia?

I hope I’ve subscribed to your newsletter via keepmeposted@clothkits.co.uk as I look forward to the range extending. BTW, are there many previous customers like me, who would probably be more comfortable in a size 18?

I had a few Clothkits things when I was a girl, but I never had a Clothkitty doll. Thirty years later, I ordered a Sasha doll and kimono for my little girl and dusted off the sewing machine to produce this over two evenings:

I’m quite unreasonably proud of her, and haven’t been so absorbed by a project for years. I’ll definitely be trying some more kits…maybe even the grown up skirt!

Wowee! I'm so glad to see Clothkits is back up and running. I've missed you so miuch!

Clothkits was a major feature of my childhood in the late 70s - most of our family photos seem to show me in some kind of printed unisex dungaree-type outfit as my Mum was a real fan of your stuff. The clothes, many of which we still have in the loft, are still as fresh and funky today as they were in 1978 and I'm looking forward to making stuff for my own brood when the time comes. In a time when fashion is so transient and clothing is such a throwaway commodity, it's great to see a move back towards heirloom clothing and putting a bit of effort and creativity into your clothes.

Thank you thank you thank you for bringing such a fab concept back to us!

I'm another excited to see Clothkits return.

Back in the late 70's/early 80's I had loads of fun making up kits for my twin daughters and myself. How wonderful that a whole new generation will have this experience.

We looked forward to the seasonal catalogues so much….maybe I might have some grandchildren before too long and then my trusty sewing machine will come out of the cupboard!

I just found the website (via wikipedia)  and this forum when I decided to google to see when Clothkits finished!  The reason for this is that I's wearing one of my favourite 'gardening' tops and I gasp in amazement every time I launder it to see the Clothkits label!  I must have had it (and been wearing it!) for over twenty years !

Clothkits clothes featured in many years of my life since the inception in '69 when I was at Art College in Winchester and noticed an ad or article in one of the Sunday newspapers iirc.  When I came home from hospital in the snow of January '77 with my newborn son I was wearing a green corduroy quilted Clothkits pinafore dress and jacket iirc.

Great to see that the business is back.  have yet to actually check out the website but just was SO excited that I had to register and post this :)

I'm happy and its bringing back good memories. I remember that our Clothkits clothes were our BEST clothes. Probably something to do with the fact that we didnt order things in EVER. It was something quite out there to be dressing like this in Tyneside.

I had a Clothkitty in beautiful spring colours. Loved her little hat.

Hi! I made various kits for myself and my sons in the 70s. Then lost sight of you when the boys got too old for printed dungarees! Well, the sons all have children of their own now, and when I spotted a few of your kits the other day I went to your website, and am now anticipating making things for my grandchildren. Great stuff! But are there going to be more winter-weight designs coming up?Smile
