Part 30’s sailor chic and part 70’s sportswear. These trousers are determined to be worn by the sea. Super high waisted with a back double layer yoke, the front features paper bag style gathers created by double drawstrings over the front between hip pocket openings. The pocket bags are a single layer stitched through to leg with a wrap-over pocket trim detail. A high glam shape with streamlined finished. The Cove can be worn cropped to floor length.
These trousers sit high on the waist above the belly button. The back and sides are cut to fit neatly into the small of the back and sit smoothly over the body. The front has a gathered drawstring to create the opening. The gathering starts from the pocket trim (not the side seam) and run across the front body. This creates a long drop from waist to hem without cross creasing interrupting the fall of the fabric, enhances the long lines of the legs.
The hem length is marked on the pattern and can be easily shortened. If you add length to the pant leg add double for the fabric requirement. When choosing a size, stick with the recommended size for hip measurements. The waistband can be gathered in or loosened off for smaller or bigger waistlines.
This is a multi-size paper pattern in an envelope, including sizes 6 - 20.
