This workshop is designed to cater to beginners; by the end of the session, you will have learnt the basics of knitting! The first half of the workshop will be covering skills such as:
- How to hold your needles and yarn
- Casting on
- Knit stitch
- Purl stitch
- Changing colour yarn
- Increasing
- Decreasing
- Casting off
- Mattress Stitch
In the second half, you will get to understand how to read a pattern, and will begin knitting a pair of wrist warmers to complete at home with your new found skills! Bianca will also provide printouts with the wrist warmer pattern and other information for you to take home.
About your Teacher:
Hello! I am Bianca (but you can call me Bee). My background is in Textiles, Art and Fashion. Before returning to university as a mature student, my business partner and I ran a small bespoke clothing label, Habgood & Bott. We also taught after school club at Clothkits. My BA is in Textiles, with a specialism in Knit. I love hand and machine knitting, and love to share my skills and help others understand this wonderful, mindful craft.

150g of DK (double knit) weight yarn and some 4.5mm needles, all of which are available at Clothkits on the day.

Venue:
The workshop is held in a bright, airy venue, four minutes' walk from our Clothkits shop. We will rendezvous on day one at Clothkits to collect any supplies needed and then take the short walk to the venue. Clothkits shop is located in central Chichester, about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. The closest car park is The Cattle Market.
