During the 1950s, Liberty commissioned some of the top artists and designers of the time to create textile prints – Robert Stewart was closely associated with Liberty’s contemporary style of this period, and Noon is based on one of his designs from 1952. Colourful, vibrant and whimsical, the print features alternating sun faces, a motif essentially synonymous with Stewart’s distinctive handwriting.
