Introducing Maisie Sweater dress or top, the first jersey pattern by Sewgirl. A wonderfully simple pattern suitable for beginners and a perfect introduction to sewing with stretch fabric in sizes Small (8-10) - 2XL (24-26).
Suggested Fabrics:
This is a garment for all seasons - in summer you could make in sporty striped jersey with a hood, in autumn/winter make in fleece backed sweat shirting, french terry back jersey or even a cable knit like the orange one in the picture, it will keep you nice and toasty.
Maisie is oversized with lots of room to move about in, with raglan style sleeves which are easy peasy to insert and a choice of dress or top lengths. There are also two different styles of pocket (side or patch) and a choice of neckband or hood, so you can design your style to suit your needs and not forgetting a hairband pattern to make from the leftover fabric.
No need to have any special equipment or an overlocker to sew jersey, although great if you've got one! Just pop a stretch needle on your machine and you are away, this garment is a joy to make.
