Would you like to start sewing on a machine and make lovely projects for your home, gifts for friends or family? Maybe you last did sewing at school and would love to brush up on your skills and learn a few more techniques.
What you’ll learn
- How to set up and use a sewing machine with confidence
- Sewing basic seams and hems
- Creating buttonholes
- Trying your hand at simple appliqué techniques
- Constructing a lined tote bag or an envelope-style cushion
- Essential bag-making skills and finishes
- Building confidence to continue your sewing journey at home

About your Teacher: As well as being an incredible designer, pattern cutter and seamstress, Maria is also an excellent teacher, who's passion for sewing is infectious.
Course Duration: 1 Full Day
When: Thursday 18th June 2026 - 10am - 4pm or Saturday 18th July 10am - 4pm or Thursday 20th August 2026 - 10am - 4pm or Saturday 3rd October 2026 10am - 4pm
Venue: The workshop is held in our modern and vibrant studio at the Clothkits shop. We are located in central Chichester, about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. The closest car park is The Cattle Market.

Returns
If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition. Non-returnable items include kits once they have been cut, cut lengths of fabric, ribbons or trim, samples, sale items, and ex-demonstration items.
