Basic Body Measurements:

All Named patterns are designed for a person approximately 172cm tall. Take your own measurements and compare them with the size chart below to choose your size.

A. High bust: Hold your arms relaxed by your sides and measure above the bust at armpit height. Measure firmly, but not so tightly that the tape cuts into the skin.

B. Full bust: Measure around the fullest part of the bust, over your bra, keeping the tape horizontal.

C. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist.

D. Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape horizontal.

If your measurements fall across more than one size, choose according to the part of the garment that is most fitted. For tops and jackets, use the bust and waist measurements. For skirts and trousers, use the waist and hip measurements. For dresses, jumpsuits and coats, choose the size that best suits the most fitted area and make any necessary pattern adjustments.

Body Length Measurements:

These measurements are useful when altering the pattern length, but they do not determine which size to choose.

E. Back length: Measure from the seventh vertebra at the nape of the neck, following the shape of the back to the narrowest point of the waist.

F. Waist-to-hip: Measure down the side of the body from the narrowest point of the waist to the fullest part of the hip.

G. Arm length: Bend your arm at a 90-degree angle with your hand on your hip. Measure from the shoulder, over the elbow, to the lower edge of the wrist bone.

H. Inseam: Stand with your feet hip-width apart and measure from the crotch straight down to the floor.

I. Side seam: Measure from the narrowest point of the waist, over the curve of the hip, then straight down to the floor.

Pattern Cup Size:

The pattern cup size is based on the difference between the full bust and high bust measurements and does not correspond directly to standard bra cup sizing. An A cup represents a 2.5cm difference, a B cup 5cm, a C cup 7.5cm, and so on. This information can be useful when choosing your size and making bust adjustments.

Returns

If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy.  You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.

Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition. Non-returnable items include kits once they have been cut, cut lengths of fabric, ribbons or trim, samples, sale items, and ex-demonstration items.
