Inspired by one of Faith's favourite vintage dresses, Rita is designed to be tied and styled in different ways, allowing you to adjust the fit around the bust and waist to suit your shape. Wear it on its own for a lovely summer outfit, or layer it over a simple T-shirt for a more relaxed, everyday look.
Choose between a simple flowing hem or a playful gathered frill for an extra touch of volume. The adjustable ties are a lovely feature of the design, making Rita a versatile addition to your handmade wardrobe.
Rita is a one-size sewing pattern designed to be adapted to your individual measurements. Rather than providing a traditional range of graded sizes, the pattern includes detailed instructions showing you how to take your measurements and modify the pattern pieces to achieve your preferred fit. This makes Rita a wonderfully flexible design that can be personalised to suit different body shapes and proportions.
The pattern also introduces Faith's own Making Method, developed through years of creating slow fashion garments, with an emphasis on efficient construction techniques and beautiful results.
Suggested Fabrics:
Lightweight to medium-weight non-stretch woven fabrics are ideal for the Rita Dress. Cotton lawn, poplin, linen, linen blends and soft woven dressmaking fabrics are lovely choices. Choose a crisp cotton for a more structured silhouette or a softer fabric for a relaxed, flowing finish.
Fabric Requirements:
Fabric quantities will depend on your individual measurements, chosen fabric width and whether you are making the simple or frilled hem. As this is a one-size pattern intended to be modified, please consult the fabric requirements and cutting layouts in the PDF before purchasing your fabric.

Unlike traditional sewing patterns with a range of graded sizes, Rita comes in one original size, with clear, detailed instructions showing you how to take your measurements and modify the pattern to suit your body. The adjustable ties also allow you to personalise the fit around the bust and waist.
The measurements below are for the original garment before any alterations. They are provided as a starting point for making your own adjustments.

All measurements are in centimetres and refer to the original finished garment, not body measurements. The apex refers to the bust apex.
How to Choose Your Size:
There is no conventional size selection required. Instead, follow the measurement and alteration instructions included in the PDF workbook to adapt the original pattern to your proportions. You can adjust the dress length and fit to create your own personalised version of Rita.
Please Note: This is not a multi-size graded pattern. Some pattern modifications may be necessary before cutting your fabric, so we recommend reading the fitting instructions carefully before starting.

If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition. Non-returnable items include kits once they have been cut, cut lengths of fabric, ribbons or trim, samples, sale items, and ex-demonstration items.
