The Toronto Pinafore Dress is a classic layering piece with plenty of options to make it your own. Designed to be worn over a T-shirt, blouse or sweater, it has a relaxed shape with deep armholes and neckline, making it a wonderfully versatile style for wearing throughout the year.
Choose between two different openings – buttons at the side for Version 1 or a button-through front for Version 2 – and make it in either a short, above-the-knee length or a playful mini length. Both versions share the same back and feature neat front and back facings, one opening shoulder strap and optional patch pockets.
Toronto works beautifully in fabrics with a little structure, such as denim, corduroy, canvas or twill, but can also be made in wool, jacquard or French terry for a softer look. The facings are cut separately, so this is also a lovely opportunity to use a contrasting lightweight cotton.

Sizes:
French sizes 32–52 / UK 4–24, drafted for a height of 165cm. Size 32 corresponds approximately to age 14 and size 34 to age 16.
Suggested Fabrics:
Canvas, cotton/linen blends, twill, denim, corduroy, wool fabrics and jacquard. The dress can also be made in fleece or French terry.
For the Facings:
Lightweight cotton such as poplin or chambray.
