This complete dressmaking kit contains everything you need to sew your own pair of Bailee Shorts, using the marvellous Tessuti pattern. Designed to be relaxed, flattering and easy to wear, the Bailee Shorts are a satisfying, summery make that comes together quickly and feels wonderful to wear.
With a pull-on shape and a gently flared leg, these shorts are all about comfort. Before you Start
Before cutting, take a moment to read through the Tessuti instructions from beginning to end so you’re familiar with the order of construction. This pattern is clearly written, but a quick read-through always helps the sewing process feel calmer and more enjoyable.
Pre-treat your viscose in the same way you plan to wash your finished shorts, then press it flat before laying out your pattern pieces. Taking care at this stage will help with accurate cutting and neat seams later on.
Fabric & Care
Main fabric: Your kit is made up in Painted Palm Viscose, a viscose with a soft drape and smooth, cool handle. The bold painterly foliage design blends deep greens, teal and inky purples with soft lilac accents, giving the finished shorts a relaxed, summery feel.
Composition: 100% viscose.
Care: We recommend a gentle machine wash on a cool setting and air drying. Press on a low heat if needed.
Sizing
The Bailee Shorts pattern included in this kit covers AUS sizes 6–22. Please refer to the size chart in the instructions to choose the best size for you before cutting your fabric.
What’s in your Kit?
Your kit includes 100% viscose fabric, matching thread, elastic, and the Tessuti Bailee Shorts paper pattern with full step-by-step instructions.
You’ll just need your usual sewing tools: sewing machine, fresh machine needle, pins or clips, scissors or rotary cutter, ruler, marking tools, and an iron and ironing board.
