This kit focuses on the top version only, making it a wonderfully wearable piece to style with jeans for everyday ease or wide-leg trousers for a more statement look. You can choose between the standard neckline or the drop neckline option if you prefer a slightly deeper shape or easier breastfeeding access.
We’ve paired the pattern with reversible 100% cotton double gauze by Atelier Brunette, and it’s a beautiful match. The woven gingham is cleverly reversible, with smaller checks on one side and larger squares on the other, giving you the opportunity to play with scale - perhaps contrasting the yokes and sleeves for a subtle, thoughtfully finished detail.
Before you Start
This is an intermediate level project with beautiful detailing that rewards careful sewing. We recommend reading through the pattern instructions thoroughly before cutting into your fabric, paying particular attention to the neckline finish, ties and gathered sections.
As double gauze can be prone to fraying, it’s worth finishing key seam edges as you go - an overlocker/serger is ideal, or you can use a zigzag stitch or overcasting stitch on your sewing machine.
Take your time with the gathering and topstitching to achieve a clean, polished result.

Sizing
The Vali Boho Smock Top pattern is included in AUS sizes 6–26. Please refer to the body and finished garment measurements in the pattern to select your preferred fit before cutting.
