This kit focuses on the button-through version with a partial placket and 3/4 length sleeves, creating an easy, wearable shape. As a bonus, the pattern also includes additional variations, with three sleeve options, waist ties and a full button-through version to explore once you’ve made your first. It’s also a wonderful piece for layering - wear it over a tee or polo neck as the seasons shift.
Before you Start
This is a satisfying intermediate project, suitable for confident beginners looking to build their skills. You’ll work through techniques including bust darts, bias facings, in-seam pockets, button plackets and inset sleeves. This pattern is clearly written, but a quick read-through always helps the sewing process feel calmer and more enjoyable.
Pre-treat your cotton in the same way you plan to wash your finished dress, then press it flat before laying out your pattern pieces. Taking care at this stage will help with accurate cutting and neat seams later on.

The Hinterland Dress pattern includes US sizes 0–24 (UK 2–24). The fit is relaxed and can be easily adjusted to suit your personal style. We recommend checking both body and finished garment measurements before cutting your fabric, especially the length.
