The Cielo Dress & Top by Closet Core Patterns is a wonderfully versatile design with a relaxed, boxy silhouette and plenty of interesting details. With four different versions to choose from, this clever pattern can be made into an easy everyday top, a statement blouse or a comfortable shift dress, all with the same effortlessly stylish feel.
All four versions feature slightly dropped shoulders, an angled shoulder yoke and a roomy, easy-fitting shape. Choose View A for a semi-cropped top with short, cuffed sleeves, or View B for a more dramatic look with beautifully gathered long sleeves. Both are lovely worn with high-waisted trousers or skirts, and work equally well in crisp cotton or softer, drapier fabrics.
For a dress, View C has short cuffed sleeves and practical inseam pockets, while View D combines the longer gathered sleeves with a clean, pocket-free silhouette. Both have the simple, unfussy shape of a classic shift dress, making them easy to dress up or down. All versions can be finished with either bias binding or a neat neckline facing.
Cielo works beautifully in a wide range of woven fabrics. Choose linen, chambray or cotton shirting for a more structured look, or try viscose, Tencel or silk for a softer silhouette with plenty of movement. It's an enjoyable project for beginners, with plenty of scope to experiment with different fabrics and details. Additional Cielo sewing tutorials are available online.

Suggested Fabrics: Light to medium-weight woven fabrics such as linen, chambray, cotton shirting, cotton voile, viscose challis, Tencel and silk. Allow additional fabric if matching stripes, checks or directional prints.

Cup size is determined by the difference between your full bust and high bust measurements. The two size ranges have different proportions, even where the size numbers overlap. If your measurements fall between sizes, you may need to blend between sizes or make a bust adjustment for the best fit.

If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition.
