Fancy trying your hand at lampshade making? Join the lovely Jane in our studio and learn how to create a classic drum lampshade from start to finish. In this relaxed half-day workshop, you’ll make a beautifully simple cylindrical shade, ready to pop onto a base or hang from the ceiling at home.
Is this class for you? This course is suitable for beginners.
Materials: You will need half a metre of suitable fabric to make a 30cm lampshade.
About your Teacher: The workshop is taught by Jane Warren, who runs The Lampshade Loft and has over 12 years’ experience teaching lampshade making in a variety of styles. Her book The Complete Guide to Making Lampshades (published in 2024) is available to buy from Clothkits, both in store and online.
Class Duration: Half day
Workshop Date: Saturday 11th July 2026 10am - 1pm
Venue: Clothkits, 16 The Hornet, Chichester PO19 7JG. The workshop is held in our modern and vibrant studio on the ground floor behind our shop. We are located in central Chichester, about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. The closest car park is The Cattle Market.

Returns
If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition. Non-returnable items include kits once they have been cut, cut lengths of fabric, ribbons or trim, samples, sale items, and ex-demonstration items.
