The Jenna Button-up Shirt & Dress from Closet Core Patterns is a wonderfully versatile take on the classic oversized shirt. With its relaxed, menswear-inspired shape and beautifully considered details, it's the sort of pattern you'll return to again and again. Make a timeless everyday shirt, a contemporary cropped version or a relaxed shirt dress with a gathered skirt.
Jenna has all the traditional features of a well-made shirt, including a collar and collar stand, dropped shoulders, a deep back yoke, chest pocket and long sleeves with tower plackets and buttoned cuffs. The generous fit makes it comfortable to wear, while the clean lines and thoughtful proportions give it a polished finish.
There are three versions to choose from:
- View A – Classic Shirt: An oversized button-up shirt with a deeply curved hem that falls below the hips. Perfect worn loose over trousers, tucked into jeans or layered over a vest.
- View B – Cropped Shirt: A shorter, boxy version with a straight hem. A lovely contemporary shape that works particularly well with high-waisted trousers and skirts.
- View C – Shirt Dress: A relaxed dress with a gathered skirt panel, combining classic shirting details with an easy, flowing silhouette.
Fabric choice can completely change the character of Jenna. Crisp cotton poplin, chambray or Oxford shirting will give a more structured, traditional look, while linen, viscose or Tencel will create a softer, more relaxed finish. It's also a lovely pattern for experimenting with stripes, checks and interesting woven textures.

Suggested Fabrics
Lightweight to medium-weight woven fabrics are ideal. For a crisp, classic shirt, choose cotton poplin, Oxford shirting, chambray, broadcloth, dobby or cotton twill. For a softer, more fluid look, try linen, Tencel, viscose, voile, silk or lightweight flannel.

If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition.
