The Cursive Wrap Top from Maison Fauve is a beautifully feminine layering piece that combines a flattering, fitted silhouette with the comfort of a soft stretch knit. With its waist-length cut and elegant wrap-front design, it's just the thing for slipping over dresses or pairing with high-waisted skirts and trousers.
The softly raised neckline sits neatly around the neck, while the crossover front follows the curves of the body. A long tie belt wraps around the waist and fastens at the back, creating a lovely defined silhouette. With its clean lines, long sleeves and simple, contemporary styling, Cursive is a versatile addition to your handmade wardrobe.
Designed for stretch fabrics, this pattern works beautifully in rib knits, cotton or viscose jersey and stretch Milano knit. Choose a soft, fluid knit for an easy everyday layer or something with a little more structure for a neater, more defined finish. It's also a satisfying project for dressmakers looking to build their confidence sewing with knitted fabrics.

Stretch knit fabrics including rib knit, cotton jersey, viscose jersey, cut-and-sew knit and stretch Milano knit.
Fabric Requirements (140cm wide):
- UK 6–10 (FR 34–38): 1.3m
- UK 12–16 (FR 40–44): 1.5m
- UK 18–20 (FR 46–48): 1.7m
- UK 22–24 (FR 50–52): 1.85m
Additional Supplies:
- 70cm G785 fusible interfacing
- Matching sewing thread
- Ballpoint or jersey sewing machine needle
- Stretch twin needle for hemming (recommended)
Sewing Tips:
This pattern can be sewn using a regular sewing machine or an overlocker. If using a sewing machine, choose a ballpoint or jersey needle and a suitable stretch stitch to allow the seams to move with the fabric. When using an overlocker, adjust the differential feed as needed to prevent stretching or distortion. A stretch twin needle is recommended for a neat, flexible hem finish.
Seam Allowances: 1cm seam allowances are included in the pattern.
