Join us for a 3-week pattern cutting course with expert tutor Maria Pulley.
What you’ll learn
- How to draft basic skirt, bodice and sleeve patterns using your own body measurements
- Understanding pattern drafting foundations and key measurements
- How to manipulate darts to change shape and style
- Adapting base patterns to create different designs
- Techniques for adjusting patterns to achieve a comfortable, well-fitting garment
Please note for this course you will be working in calico to make toiles, not finished garments.
Is this class for you? Ideal for those with dressmaking experience.
Materials: You will need a large lever arch file or something similar for your notes and patterns, a sharp pencil and a calculator for those tricky measurements. Additionally, you will be working with calico and pattern paper which you can buy on the day, but if you have some feel free to bring it along.
About your Teacher: Maria is an incredible pattern cutter, designer and seamstress. Her love for creating is infectious and you will come away from any of her workshops feeling inspired.
Course Duration: 3 full days
When: Thursday 3rd, 10th and 17th September 10am-4pm
Venue: The workshop is held in our modern and vibrant studio at the Clothkits shop. We are located in central Chichester, about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. The closest car park is The Cattle Market.

Returns
If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition. Non-returnable items include kits once they have been cut, cut lengths of fabric, ribbons or trim, samples, sale items, and ex-demonstration items.
