Description
The Thelma Boilersuit is a traditional workwear-inspired style with a softer, more feminine fit. Relaxed and roomy without feeling shapeless, it is designed to suit a wide range of body shapes and can be made in everything from sturdy denim and twill to softer linens and drapier fabrics.
This is a more involved sewing project, but the result is a brilliantly versatile garment that can be worn again and again. Take your time with the construction and details, and you’ll have a real wardrobe workhorse.
Suggested Fabrics:
Medium-weight woven fabrics such as sanded twill, 5–8oz denim, yarn-dyed linens with some stability and cotton poplin. More experienced sewists could also try Tencel, Tencel/linen blends, corduroy, softer linens, prints and checks.
Pattern Errata:
- On the Front Leg pattern piece (4), the instruction that reads “cut here for right side” should read “cut here for left side”. The written instructions are correct.
- The sizing marks on the underarm sleeve tack at the cuff are shown in the wrong order.
You will also need:
- 18 x 14–18mm buttons.
- 16 buttons are sufficient if you are using just one button at each cuff.
- 2 reels of matching thread.
- 70cm of interfacing.

If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition.
