Inspired by the dazzling Mexican folk art of Alebrijes, the brightly coloured dream creatures first imagined by artist Pedro Linares in the 1930s, this vibrant kit lets you crochet a playful goat spirit full of personality and charm.
In Linares’ magical dream, a forest filled with fantastical animals came to life, calling out one word: “Alebrijes!” These extraordinary hybrids became icons of imagination and artistry, later appearing as spirit animals in Disney Pixar’s Coco.
The Make Me Roar Goat Alebrije captures that same sense of joyful creativity. Designed in the amigurumi style and worked in a continuous spiral, it features colourful embroidered details stitched over the crocheted body to bring your creation to life. The pattern is clearly written and beautifully illustrated with step-by-step photographs, making it a satisfying project for intermediate crocheters.
