La Chemisette is a relaxed shirt with a lovely boyish, slightly retro feel – an Atelier Brunette signature that’s easy to wear and full of character. With its loose shape, neat shirt collar and gently dropped back hem, it’s just the thing for creating an effortless everyday shirt.
There are two versions to choose from. Version A features classic long sleeves with buttoned cuffs that can be worn down or casually rolled up, while Version B has short, boxy sleeves for an easy summer feel. Both versions feature a double back yoke with a soft pleat for added ease, plus an optional patch pocket at the chest.
Make it in a soft, fluid fabric for a relaxed drape, or have a little fun with stripes, checks, bold colour or print for something with more impact.
Important to Know: Atelier Brunette patterns are designed to be traced off. The pattern pieces overlap, so you will need to trace your chosen size before cutting. This allows you to preserve all the sizes on the original pattern and make adjustments as you trace. You can use tracing paper, baking parchment or thin wrapping paper, or try our spot and cross pattern paper.
The pattern includes printed instructions in both French and English. You can also scan the QR code inside the pattern envelope with your smartphone to download the instruction booklet.

Recommended Fabrics:
Soft woven fabrics such as viscose, double gauze and cotton-linen blends. Prints, checks and stripes are particularly lovely for making the most of the shirt's simple shape. Take a look at the beautiful Atelier Brunette fabrics for plenty of inspiration.

Returns
If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition. Non-returnable items include kits once they have been cut, cut lengths of fabric, ribbons or trim, samples, sale items, and ex-demonstration items.
