    Description

Discover the art of Sashiko and learn how to breathe new life into well-loved textiles with this inspiring and practical guide from renowned artist Takao "Momi" Momiyama. Rooted in Japanese textile traditions, Sashiko combines simple hand stitches with beautiful geometric patterns, creating repairs that are both functional and decorative.

Learn traditional methods including hitomezashi, moyozashi and koginsashi, alongside clear guidance on choosing the right approach for different fabrics and repair projects.

From mending jeans, shirts and socks to creating larger patchwork and quilting projects, you'll discover how Sashiko can transform everyday repairs into meaningful acts of creativity. The step-by-step instructions make this accessible craft easy to learn, while the more advanced patterns provide plenty of inspiration for experienced stitchers.
