The Nicks Dress & Blouse from Closet Core Patterns brings a touch of bohemian glamour to everyday dressing. With its softly gathered details, flowing silhouette and delicate finishing touches, this versatile sewing pattern offers three lovely variations, from a romantic tiered dress to an easy tunic and elegant blouse.
All three versions feature a relaxed V-neck bodice with gentle gathers at the shoulders and yoke, creating beautiful softness through the upper body. Slightly puffed sleeves add to the romantic feel, with a choice of short sleeves or long sleeves featuring wrist pleats and elasticated cuffs. The neckline can be finished with a simple facing or a bias-bound edge with delicate rouleau button loops and buttons.
Three versions to make:
- View A – Dress: A flowing, button-front dress with a comfortable elasticated waist and three gathered skirt tiers. Choose long or short sleeves for a wonderfully versatile dress that works throughout the seasons.
- View B – Tunic: A relaxed, voluminous swing tunic with a gathered tier at the hips. Beautiful with slim trousers or jeans, with the option of long or short sleeves.
- View C – Blouse: An elegant, loose-fitting blouse with a faced neckline and a choice of sleeve lengths. Lovely tucked into high-waisted trousers or worn loose for an effortless look.
Nicks works beautifully in fabrics with plenty of drape, such as viscose, silk crepe or rayon challis, which allow the gathers and tiers to fall softly. For a slightly more structured look, try cotton voile, chambray or lightweight linen. With its interchangeable details and three distinctive silhouettes, it's a pattern you'll enjoy returning to.

*Some sizes cannot be cut from 114cm wide fabric without rotating pattern pieces or joining fabric sections. Wider fabric is recommended for these sizes.
Suggested Fabrics
Light to medium-weight woven fabrics with moderate drape. For a soft, flowing silhouette, choose viscose, rayon challis, silk crepe, chiffon, charmeuse or georgette. For a little more structure, try cotton shirting, batiste, voile, chambray or lightweight linen.

- Five 12mm buttons for the centre front opening on Views A and B
- 13mm wide elastic: 2m for View A waist and sleeve cuffs
- 13mm wide elastic: 0.5m for View C sleeve cuffs
- Lightweight fusible interfacing: 25cm x 25cm for the View C neckline facing
- Matching sewing thread
- Fabric marking tool
- Tube turner or safety pin for turning rouleau loops

Choosing Your Size: The 0–20 range is drafted for a B cup, while the 14–32 range is drafted for a D cup with fuller hips. Both size ranges are based on an average height of approximately 168cm. For this loose-fitting design, start with your bust measurement and compare your waist and hip measurements to select the most suitable size.

Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition.
