This is an excellent Japanese cotton thread which is designed for Sashiko. The Sashiko thread comes in a wide variety of single colors, and also some beatiful variegated threads which will change colour whilst your'e stitching.
Sashiko thread is different to regular embroidery floss, the main one being that the fine strands are twisted together to make a single thread or 'yarn' which you use as one.
