Description
A softly structured waistcoat with a relaxed, boxy fit, two neat welt pockets and a simple stitched belt detail at the back. A brilliant layering piece, wear it over shirts, dresses and knitwear through the cooler months, or make it in a tumbled linen to wear on its own when the weather warms up.
The pattern gives you the option of making the waistcoat with a self-fabric back or using lining fabric for the back, making it easy to play around with contrasting fabrics and different weights.
All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless otherwise stated and are included in the pattern.
This is a multi-size paper sewing pattern including UK sizes 6–18.
Suggested Fabrics:
5–8oz linen, 5–10oz denim, light to medium weight corduroy, wool, wool blends, cotton canvas or cotton twill.
For the lining, choose a lightweight woven fabric such as calico, cotton lawn, cotton, cotton blends or Tencel/linen. Bear in mind that the lining may be visible when the waistcoat is worn, so this is a lovely opportunity to choose something special.
