A modern take on an everyday wardrobe essential, the Merchant & Mills Tee Shirt combines the relaxed shape of a classic T-shirt with the structure of a woven fabric. It features a stretch rib neckline, breast pocket and optional rolled sleeves for a simple, contemporary finish.
Designed for woven fabrics rather than jersey, this is a great pattern for linen, chambray and other easy-to-wear cloths. The straight, unfussy shape makes it ideal for showing off a favourite fabric.
This multi-size paper pattern includes sizes 36–46. Seam allowances are included and marked on the pattern: 1.5cm throughout, except at the neckline where the seam allowance is 1cm.
The pattern also includes a lengthen line if you would like to turn the Tee Shirt into a simple dress. Merchant & Mills suggest adding approximately 40cm to the finished length, which requires around 80cm of additional fabric. For the dress version, choosing a slightly oversized fit works particularly well as the side seams are straight.
Suggested Fabrics:
Laundered linen, linen blends, Tencel, Tencel/linen, lightweight denim, cotton chambray, Indian handwoven cottons, fine wool and needlecord.
You will also need:
- Matching thread
- 10cm ribbing or a pre-cut rib for the neckline
