I AM Rainbow, a sweatshirt where the only limit is your imagination. Choose from 20 variations with pockets and 10 versions without. Make me with or without a zip. I have two pockets to choose from: kangaroo or welt. At the neckline, choose either a classic or overlapping hood, or neckband, or a ribbing collar. I can be finished with or without ribbing.
Garment: Jersey for sweatshirt, Interlock knit, Neoprene, French Terry
Ribbing: Ribbing by the meter or the same fabric used for the garment (this pattern is not designed for using pre-cut ribbing bands). The ribbed collar can only be sewn in ribbing.
You will also need:
Fabrics / Ribbing
1 open-end zipper* 23 5/8 ” (60 cm) long
1 1/4 yards (120 cm) of drawstring cord
2 eyelets (diameter depends on the drawstring width)
Scrap of non-woven and non-stretch iron-on interfacing
Welt pockets versions: iron-on interfacing: 8″ by 16″ (20 cm x 40 cm)
Kangaroo pockets versions: thin cardboard for the ironing template
*23 5/8″ is the conversion for 60 cm which is the length the original pattern is drafted for. You can take a 24″ long zipper but you will have to lengthen the front and back pieces by 3/8″. To understand how to do this, refer to the instructions in step 2 (Preparing the pattern).
|A1, 55″ wide fabric||17/8||17/8||17/8|

It is impossible to list the yardage for all versions in all sizes. Above, we indicate the yardage for the main variation (A1). To calculate the fabric required for the other versions, refer to the instructions in step 4 (Cutting the fabric).
