The Southport dress is a tank style dress designed to be worn as a coverup at the beach or a dress for around town. It has a button opening at center front and a drawstring waist with inseam pockets.
View A hits 20” from the waist. View B is maxi length and hits 42” from the waist and includes a centre front slit.
0 – 18 (approx. UK 8 – 20). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Suggested Fabrics:
Light weight, woven fabrics with movement such as cotton voile, rayon challis, crepe de chine, and lightweight linen.
Fabric Requirements:
Extra fabric may be needed to match stripes or plaids or for directional prints.
View A: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 2.3 – 2.5 yd (2.1 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 1.5 – 1.75 yd (1.4 – 1.6 m).
View B: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 3.5 – 4 yd (3.2 – 3.7 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 2.75 – 3.2 yd (2.5 – 3 m).
You will also need:
- Coordinating thread
- 3 yds single fold 1/2” bias tape
- 1/4 yd lightweight interfacing
